[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Jacob de Graaf graduated in 2001 from the School of Fine Arts Constantijn Huygens in Kampen, the Netherlands, specialising in painting. After his graduation he ran a small art gallery and studio in Sloten, his home town in the northern province of Friesland.
Widely diverse, his work refuses to be limited to a single style or format. The works range in size from tiny panels to huge canvases, from highly abstract paintings to meticulously detailed and realistic work. No matter how diverse they might appear, they all have a stillness and contemplative nature in common, often using a monochromatic palette to set the mood.
In 2006 he moved from the Netherlands to live and work in the beautiful city of York, UK. Since his graduation, he’s had solo- and group exhibitions in the Netherlands, the UK, and India. Currently, his paintings and drawings are available through this site, and through his studio in York. Some works are also permanently on display at Galerie Gravin in the Netherlands.
